The Beginning: Seeing the Vision

Jonathan Teske, founder of ReframeXR, had a big dream. As a former educator turned techie and mixed reality aficionado through his role leading VR education at Meta, he had a vision of the future of education. He wanted to make it easy for  teachers and students to use mixed reality technology in classrooms. With this, he created Reframe, a mixed reality-based platform that empowers teachers and centers them in the product, making it easier to incorporate immersive experiential content into the classroom.

"I have headsets, how do I take advantage of them?" That's the question Jonathan heard most from schools. Teachers liked the idea of using mixed reality with students, but found existing options hard to use.

Jonathan knew his product could solve these problems, and he had the deep empathy of the teaching experience as a former educator. But getting the word out was tough. His story and his platform are different from the competitors out there and he knew his product was better for teachers and students, but was struggling to tell this story.

"We needed a way to tell our story that would reach the right people," Jonathan explains. "We had the technology, but needed help sharing what makes us special."

The Challenge: Standing Out in a Crowded Space

ReframeXR faced a common problem for startups trying to scale in a crowded space. They had spent the time to carefully develop a product that they know is compelling, but were facing challenges in reaching their audience. Many schools were talking about virtual reality (VR) field trips and other experiences, but Reframe offered something different - mixed reality activities that were easier for teachers to manage in classrooms and more collaborative for students.

Jonathan had a unique and informed point of view – the current VR solutions just don’t work for classrooms. The challenge wasn't just telling people about Reframe. It was helping them understand why it was better than what they were already using.

"Schools kept focusing on content and virtual field trips, but these don’t work in the classroom." Jonathan shares. He had seen what happens when schools try to implement hacky VR solutions – kids don’t engage, it’s hard for teachers to implement, or worse, being in an intense VR environment makes kids sick.  "We solve a different problem - we make it simple for teachers to actually use the technology they already have, and do it in a way that’s safe and that they’re already used to in their existing pedagogy."

With limited resources and a small team, ReframeXR needed experts who could help them reach the right people with the right message.

The Turning Point: Finding the Right Partner

We could hear Jonathan’s story loud and clear, and knew it was compelling. So, we set out to start telling it.

• They created a new website design that clearly explained Reframe's benefits
• They researched what schools were searching for online
• They developed a content strategy focused on classroom management and teacher support

The team identified five content pillars that would help Reframe connect with educators:

"Freedom to Launch helped us focus on what makes us special," Jonathan shares. "They showed us how to make our product resonate with our audience rather than just produce marketing content."

With their new marketing strategy, ReframeXR started connecting with schools in a whole new way and telling their story.

The refreshed website made their case compelling and clear. Reframe solved the management problems teachers faced with mixed reality and provided a technology that was easy for teachers to implement while being collaborative and engaging for students. The content strategy helped position ReframeXR as experts in mixed reality for education.

"We started having different conversations with schools," Jonathan explains. "Instead of just talking about the product, we started really articulating how Reframe solves school and teacher problems in tangible ways."

The LinkedIn strategy helped Reframe connect directly with decision-makers in schools. Blog posts addressed the real problems educators faced when trying to use mixed reality technology and made it easier for Reframe to be discovered through web search.

Schools started to see Reframe not just as another EdTech provider, but as a solution to their classroom technology challenges.

The Journey Continues: Looking to the Future

The success of the marketing strategy has opened new possibilities for Reframe XR. They're now working with more schools and exploring partnerships with content developers.

"We're working with partners to create content specifically for our platform," Jonathan shares. "This gives schools both the easy management they need and the engaging content they want."

With their clear message and growing audience, Reframe XR is positioned to reach more classrooms. As schools continue to invest in mixed reality technology, they now have a partner who understands their challenges.

For teachers and students across the country, Reframe XR represents a new way of using technology in the classroom – one that focuses on making things simple for teachers rather than adding more complications.

"It's exciting to see our vision come to life," Jonathan says. "We're helping teachers use technology in ways that really benefit students."
